Company founded in Noviglio in 1949 by Giulio Castelli, a chemical engineer formerly a student of the Nobel Prize Giulio Natta, and passionate about the study of plastics and their use in the home. Overcoming the concept that only glass, wood and metal were materials intended for the production of furniture, Castelli starts the production of furniture and design accessories, which have remained iconic for their innovative shape, the lightness of polycarbonate and the transparency that made chairs and lamps recognizable in the world. Both the lighting and the furniture are treated in detail, bearing the great names of international design, such as Anna Castelli Ferrieri, Gino Colombini, Gae Aulenti, Ettore Sottsass, Patricia Urquiola, Alberto Meda, Vico Magistretti, Ferruccio Laviani, Piero Lissoni, Antonio Citterio, Ron Arad, Mario Bellini, Philippe Starck and many others.
